15 Weeks

Adalyn is 15 weeks old this week. She makes me smile every day.  It is so special when I go to pick her up from the sitter after work and as soon as she sees me she breaks out into a big smile!  I just love her so so much!  She has pretty much outgrown most of her 0-3 clothes, but we haven't actually made the switch to the 3-6 month clothes.  I just keep eliminating the items that are too small.  I feel like its way too fast, but I guess she is almost 4 months old so she should be getting to the 3-6 clothes.  She still wears size 1 diaper. Her hair has gotten thicker but is still blonde...(not sure where that comes from) so she looks bald in pictures without her bow {see previous post} :)

Here are a few pictures from this week:
Getting so long!!
 A half smile:)
"Look what I can do, Mom!" This is my constant battle with weekly pictures now:)
Please ignore the drool. This also becoming a constant now!
 In daddy's arms. So content.

Seriously...

I got this photo yesterday from Jes and I just cannot wait to see the rest from Adalyn's 3 month pictures. I know I'm biased but I cannot handle the cuteness! Oh my!
Does anyone else think I gave birth to a cabbage patch kid?  The straight mouth, chubby cheeks, big eyes and (seemingly) bald head in this picture just looks like a cpk to me. So sweet:) Melt.my.heart.

The Pioneer Woman!!!

I had a girl's day with Billie, Sarah and Adalyn on Friday.  Ree Drummand, aka The Pioneer Woman was in Cincinnati for a book signing for her new book, Black Heels to Tractor Wheels and we decided to go see her! We took half of a day of vacation and spent the afternoon driving and shopping and waiting to meet Ree!  It took us about 1.5 hours to get there and we went ahead and got line tickets. (I had tried to get line tickets ahead of time but you have to get them in person so we were out of luck.) We got letter "N" (25 people per letter - making 325 people in line in front of us!) so needless to say it was quite a wait...but worth it! Ree was going to speak at 6pm so since we had a couple hours we drove to Anthropologie and Loft!  Billie and I had never been to Anthropologie and it was fun to walk around, but a little too pricey for me though! But I did buy my first items from Loft in about a year - their clearance rack was an additional 40% off! Whoohoo!

Then we went back to Joseph Beth and the place was already packed with TONS of women!  Let's just say that the Lexington Joseph Beth is about 3 or 4 times the size of this store so I wish the signing would have been at our store! Pioneer Woman fans took over the store.  I feel bad for anyone going into the store to buy a book other than Ree's because they would have had a hard time getting to any aisles! :)

Here is a picture of Ree talking and answering questions from the crowd.  Of course I had a question but was too timid to actually raise my hand!  She was great! So funny and so real!  She talked the entire time about being nervous but she was so natural! (The signing table is at the top of the stairs so the people in line had to wait on the stairs.)

Adalyn had some spit up issues so we walked across the parking lot to Carter's to get her a new shirt and then came back and claimed a couch.  That couch was our home for the rest of the evening.  There's a restaurant in the bookstore but we were too worried about leaving our couch and the restaurant being too full so we just skipped dinner.  Here are a few pictures of us hanging out and entertaining the baby.  Adalyn was so good.  I am so blessed!!

Finally they called letter "M" so we got up to get ready to get into line and the guy in charge of the signing came up to us and said since we had a baby he'd take us to the front of the line! (Why didn't we do this hours ago??) So he came back and took us up an elevator (I was glad because I was worried about hanging out on those steps.) and there SHE was!! Seriously how cute is her outfit and those boots?
And here is proof of how much Ree loves babies! This is the group that was ahead of us in the "cut" line.  These faces crack me up!
Seriously, she is soo pretty and her hair is amazing.  I wanted to ask her her secret for such great hair.  But I was too star struck to actually say anything to her.  I told her Adalyn's name and she asked how to spell it because her daughter's middle name is Adeline.  Then I told her that we drove up from Lexington and she told us a story about how she and Marlboro man had to drive to a wedding in Louisville many years ago and totally missed Louisville and got to Lexington! (That's quite a long ways to miss a city!) It was so great how she actually talks to everyone and is so personable!  I mean seriously everyone must feel the same way since she had such a crowd of people there, but it feels like she's a long lost girlfriend!

Here are some pictures of us at the signing table. I didn't think to put my camera back into Auto mode when I gave it to the bookstore worker and so they turned out a bit blurry. Oops!

We didn't get home until about midnight but it was a fun day and worth the lack of sleep!  Saturday I made her Chicken Spaghetti for our dinner club and it was quite the hit!

14 Weeks

Adalyn turned 14 weeks this week.  She is starting to grow out of her 0-3 month clothes!  It's so hard to believe already!  I'm not ready to give up some of her cute outfits that she has only worn a few times!  She is just so long that her pants are too short and her sleeves are too short.  But she still has items that are 0-3 that are way to big around the waist to stay on her!  She's a little string bean!

We had professional pictures with Jes on Sunday and I got a sneak peek at one of the pictures and it's adorable and I can't wait to see the rest!

This week, during our weekly photo shoot Adalyn was all about playing with her tongue.  She kept making kissing noises and sucking on her little lips and tongue. So cute.  So the pictures are pretty funny!

Valentine's Day

Jonathan took me on a nice romantic date on Saturday night.  We went to the Regatta for dinner and then to see "Just Go With It".  We ended up not going out for FroYo because the place was packed.  But it was a nice date night out.  Tim, Lindsy and Kennedy so sweetly watched Adalyn for us. And from the pictures here, Kennedy was a big helper!

So Monday night we repaid the babysitting favor and watched Kennedy.  We had our own little par-tay.  Here are some pictures from our day/evening.

Jonathan and Adalyn before work in their cute Valentine outfits.

Our yummy dinner that Jonathan made while Adalyn relaxed.

Kennedy enjoying her giant candy necklace.

Adalyn enjoying her fingers:)
Jonathan surprised me with yummy cupcakes for dessert!! And he also surprised me with matching pearl necklace and bracelet sets for Adalyn and me.  Her set is soo tiny.  I can't wait for her to wear it!! I thought that was such a special gift for Adalyn's first Valentine's Day! I have two wonderful Valentines!!!

Valentine's Day decorations

I had fun putting a few decorations around the house for Valentine's day.  I love switching things up for the seasons.  I have collected a few red items and thought it would be fun to decorate the mantle!  So here are our decorations this year!

I got this cute banner decoration from Lilly's warehouse sale this summer $24 marked down to $5!

The tree and the vases are from after-Christmas sales in past years and I figured I could use them for another holiday too!  The Love sign is from Hobby Lobby on sale this year.

This banner was from the same Lilly's sale for $24 marked down to $3!  I think it looks so cute hanging on the window.  It's sparkly and catches the light!
I found these sparkly hearts at Hobby Lobby (surprise surprise!)
One of my Christmas presents this year... A Happy Everything plate! Love the heart for it!
Another Hobby Lobby find this year:)
And Adalyn needed a special Valentine's day decoration for her room too.  I love it! So cute!

Weekend Pictures

Today was Adalyn's 3 month photo shoot with "Aunt" Jes!  I CANNOT wait to see how the pictures turn out.  She has some seriously cute poses.  We attempted to recreate her newborn tutu picture and lets just say that wasn't happening...she is just getting so big!

Here is Adalyn sitting with daddy watching the UK basketball game on Saturday! (Coda's never far away...)

Here is Adalyn with mommy before church today!

Newborn Photos

Speaking yesterday of Adalyn's photo shoot with Aunt Jes, I realized that I don't remember posting any of Adalyn's adorable newborn pictures that Jes took.  I waited to post them because they were our Christmas gifts to our moms and then my blogging went downhill when I went back to work in January.  Better late than never right??

Here is a link to Jes' blog post on her website with some of our other pictures.

I'm a puddle now.  How was my baby this small just 3 months ago?? I love her so much!  I know I'm biased but I think these pictures turned out so well!  Jes really has a gift with photography!!

13 Weeks & 3 Months

My baby is 3 months old!!!  She has gotten so much fun and interactive!  We love every second with her!  Here are some pictures from her 13 week and 3 month photo shoots!  Jonathan took morning pictures while I was getting ready for work.  What a good daddy!  Adalyn's going to have a real photo shoot with Aunt Jes this weekend and I'm soo excited!!
 Stretch!!

Something new this week: Trying out the Bumbo.  Not sure how she feels about it yet. So big!!
