Florida Vacation

Two weeks ago we went on vacation to Florida! We had not taken a vacation for two years since last summer I was too pregnant (and then had a newborn) to take any trips so we were due for a vacation! We went to visit and stay with my brother and his family in St. Augustine.  We were a bit worried about the car drive down to Florida but it ended up being great! It only took us 13 hours and we only stopped 3 times! I was so amazed by how well the kids did. They watched lots of princess movies and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
Adalyn requested Monster's Inc. and she was cracking us up because she thinks the first scene is scary so she covers her eyes but then watches through her fingers.

Once we got to Florida we ended up having such amazing weather every single day! Two days we did have rain but it was timed perfectly during nap time while we were at home and then quit before dinnertime! Perfect Florida. We enjoyed family time so much.

My brother has a beautiful waterfront view! I could wake up to this view every day!
Sunday after church we enjoyed fish tacos (for the first time)!
Adalyn with her cousins! She looks up to them all so much. She just couldn't get enough of them!
We enjoyed some pool time Sunday afternoon!
On Mondays the neighborhood pool is closed for cleaning so my brother took off work and we all went to the beach! It was nice to not be in a tourist-y area and I couldn't believe how empty the beach was which my brother said was the busiest he's ever seen it. Neither of my kids (nor my husband) were big fans of the beach. I thought Adalyn would love the unending sandbox since she is a fan of the one at her sitter's house, but she wasn't really into it. My brother helped her build a castle and then she enjoyed hunting for shells to decorate the outside of the castle. She did not like the feel of the sand when she was standing in the water and it would move out from under her feet. She also didn't love the waves splashing her (neither did Cayden). I think it was just something new to her. Maybe after a couple days she would have liked it. I'm not a huge fan of feeling sandy but I loved being out in the ocean and playing in the waves!! It was so fun!

That evening after a cookout dinner Jonathan and Caleb (my nephew) had a rousing game of Corn Hole. Adalyn even got to play a game! She was excited to cheer for her daddy and was all about being a big girl and playing it herself. It was a beautiful summer evening!

My kids love their Uncle Aaron!
I have so many pictures from our vacation that I'm going to have to make this into two posts! Stay tuned... :)

Father's Day

Even though it was three weeks ago, I still have to post a picture (or three) of my baby daddy!  We had a good day celebrating Jonathan! Just like Mother's day, unfortunately we can have a day of pampering with two kids two and under so he didn't get a fluffy day void of responsibilities, but I think he still had a great day! He's such an amazing daddy to our kids! I love the way he play with our kids (he even played Pretty Pretty Princess with Adalyn yesterday!) and cares for our kids and provides for us all!

Fun Cookout

On the Saturday that the Taylor's were in town we had a big cookout with our old group of friends. Unfortunately two of the families out of the five families now live far away but they were in town and it was fun to get together for a cookout. We kept looking around in amazement at how much our group has grown. We used to hangout when it was just us couples and now there are 10 adults and 10 kids (with another one on the way). So our house was quite crazy but so fun!

Of course first up was getting pictures of the triplets: Finn, Greyson and Cayden. This age was much harder to get all the boys in the picture and looking at the camera at the same time than when we took pictures at 3 months.
Grey was cheesin so much for the pictures!

I think it's so cute to see how the boys all have about the same amount of hair...just different colors.
It's so fun to watch the boys grow. They each look more and more like their siblings/parents. They are each such different individuals already. It's fun to see the differences in their sizes, their shapes, their personalities, and their milestones. I just wish we could get these boys together more often!

We also had to get some pictures with the mama's.
And the daddies.

We attempted some pictures of all 10 of the kids/babies. Of course we should have done it earlier in the day instead of before everyone was leaving since kids (including one of mine) were starting to melt down. The pics turned out cute anyway!

I love that Eli is trying to help Adalyn soothe Cayden. Sweet boy. And I love that Kennedy stood strong with smiling in every picture like she's been through a photoshoot-training:)

I just love seeing all those precious babies. We have all been blessed! We got a picture with all the mama's and their babies. The fact that you can see most of the faces in the picture was a success. We didn't worry about getting smiles:)

We also did a self-timer picture of the entire group.  We didn't know if it would turn out since we didn't have anyone dancing around to get the kids to look at the camera.

We are surrounded by such amazing people to do life with. Even though two families have moved away, our friendships stand the test of time and miles and we can pick up right where we left off even after not seeing each other for months. We have such an awesome group of friends! Blessed.

House Guests!

A couple weeks ago the Taylor's came to town to visit and stayed with us for a week. They are practically family and we have missed them so much since they moved away a year ago. We had so much fun during the week and Adalyn missed her friends so much when they left. We had a wonderful time...so wonderful that I pretty much forgot to pull my camera out to document our week. Thankfully Lindsy took some pics throughout the week so I borrowed hers.

First things first. Of course we had to sit the boys next each other for a few photos. Neither boy was crawling yet so it was nice and easy to get them to stay in the frame:)

And a little standing time. They were just about the same height.

I also wanted to get a group picture of all the kids in age order. Of course we forgot to sit them down to do it until the last night after all the kids were in pjs. I think they turned out so cute though!

I love seeing our kids together and seeing how they love each other and play so well together. After seeing my kids have built in friends/cousins for the week, my heart broke for them to leave town. I'm already looking for the next date we can get together again!
