Waiting

Have you ever sat in a doctors office waiting room wondering what was taking so long? Hurry up already!? Well how about when it's 11:45 and you haven't had anything to eat or drink since midnight the night before? :) Here I am. Waiting.

I'm having a cyst removed this morning at 10:30...oh wait, that was over an hour ago. I've been laying in this lovely gown with an iv in my hand since 10:00. We found out that my doctor had an emergency C-Section and you know...babies don't wait. So I do.

I've read my book, read blogs. I'm hungry, thirsty and bored! Should I stop complaining now? I figure that I'll be out of commission after surgery so if I want to write my thoughts in any legible way I should get it out now before I'm drugged up! :)

Hopefully this will be quite routine and everything will go smoothly. Jonathan and my mom are with me...waiting. Have I mentioned that we're bored?

Well, it's been an hour (the amount of time they said that the Dr would be) so maybe i should get off of here and hope that she arrives soon! :)

Who doesn't love a Blizzard??

I have been a horrible blogger lately! I'm sorry! I've had some personal stuff going on and haven't really felt like "talking". Anyway, here is my small attempt to resurrect myself:)

Tonight, Lindsy and I got together to do a little something for Billie's shower coming up in a week. I can't tell you what we had planned to do...sorry Billie:) Anyway, Lindsy and I planned this at least a week ago. I met Lindsy at her house and we went to Jimmy Johns (yumm) to get some dinner. Then we sauntered into the store we had our evening planned around. When we walked in, the girl that worked there said "Can I help you?" We looked around and we were the only people there. She then let us know that they closed in 2 minutes!! I looked at my watch and said, "um...your website said we still have another 2 hours!" Yes, they have SUMMER hours! Wha??? I was sooo bummed! But what can you do?

Well, I'll tell you what we did...We ate away our pain with Tagalong Blizzards from DQ. What could go wrong with Girl Scout Cookies and ice cream??? Nothing I tell ya.

Look at that thing...it was overflowing!

I love Lindsy's face in this picture! LOL! She was so excited to try this flavor!

Self-portraits are difficult for me...can you tell? :)

Yes, the car was moving at the time of this picture...ahem...don't worry we were being safe:)

Then we rescheduled our planners...oh wait...that was just Lindsy because I don't have enough stuff on my calendar to need a planner. HA! And decided on tomorrow evening to try again to do this little something:)

Random Thoughts...

You know that old saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"? Yeah, well, that's kind of how I feel. I just don't have anything exciting to write about other than the mundane day in and day out stuff. Work is stressful, we need a vacation, blah, blah, blah. Yes, I'm having a pity party...It's my blog. I'm allowed! I'll be over it now...I guess I just had to get it out of me!

We've had a great time with Tim and Lindsy. They are now working on their new house and we're planning on having a Pizza Painting Party on Friday to help them. Dakota was so cute last night when Kennedy came in! He was so excited to see her. They had spent the night before at their new house and he had missed his little playmate! It's just so cute. (Dakota is a bit agressive and I was worried how he would treat a child, but he has been great with K.)

Lindsy and I had a great time on Saturday picking out a cake at Tinkers (our favorite bakery) for Billie's shower! How exciting! You know I'll be posting about that when it's a little closer... I wish I could post some pics of things L and I have been working on. I can't give away clues tho! Sorry Billie...you'll just have to wait and see!

L and I also hit up the Annual Barnyard Sale at 2 Chicks and Co.! It was amazing! 2 Chicks is a cute girlie boutique with purses, jewelry, home and baby stuff. Everything outside was 50% off and everything inside was 20% off! I would post pics of my fabulous deals (and when I say fabulous, I mean FABULOUS ::read it in a high pitched voice::), but I feel like I do that too much on here. And really, I do much more than shop...I don't really spend that much money on shopping, but I feel like you all probably think I do since I'm always talking about shopping. But, I guess when you're a bargain shopper, you can shop more often since you spend so little! :) So, you'll just have to trust me that I got amazing deals and had so much fun spending my birthday money.

Has anyone been watching Big Brother? Holy drama!!! What was Chima thinking?? I hope Jordan and Jeff stick in there for a while because they are my favorite!

Snapshots of summer

So, my BLT was just so delicious on Tuesday night that I decided that I needed to make myself a repeat dinner on Wednesday. And again...you guessed it...it was absolutely delicious. It looked like a picture. I am aware that I am not Pioneer Woman (in photography, cooking, or blogging skills) but I decided that I was going to share some pictures of my picture perfect dinner!
Seriously...look at that freshly grown tomato!!
My husband's BLT-hold the T! He's not big on tomatoes - I just can't understand why...
I mean seriously...if that doesn't make your mouth water then you have a problem:)
On to a different subject...

Isn't this orchid pretty? Jonathan gave it to me for my birthday and he's been watering it so it hasn't died yet! Don't you love my confidence in my green thumb? But then again it's Jonathan's green thumb and he does well with the plants outside so he gets all the credit...it's even sprouted some new blooms. (If that's the right terminology) :)
Last night was our last softball game. It was kind of sad...we got spanked! But we had a fun season because we were spending time with friends. These were our two cheerleaders! Can you tell how interested in the game they were? It was cute, we really could hear them cheering at times. Precious! We had to get a pic for the end of the season. It's so much fun to play sports with your spouse. I think everyone should give it a whirl at least once. Even if you lose (like we did last night) its a great time. Although it's way more fun when you win... (we're undefeated in our sand volleyball league - tournament games start next week.)

Deals a long time coming...

It's been a long time coming... A while back, I told you that when I went to visit my parents, my mom and I went shopping and I got some great deals! I also promised you all that I would post my deals! I know all of you were holding your breath waiting for me to write this post. HA!! Anyway, on with the fashion show. Unfortunately my photography skills aren't so great, but here you go...

This ring was from For Love 21 and it was $4.80!! Please don't look at the manicure or lack there of!

This ring was from For Love 21 and it was $3.80!! Seriously!! I never wear gold, but this past winter I got a pretty necklace with gold in it and I never have a right hand ring to wear when I wear that necklace...so of course I needed a gold ring! The sad thing about both of these rings is that I accidentally got a size too big because they had tags on the rings, so they felt like they were the right size until I took the tag off and wore them. They spin around on my hand! Oh well. They are cute anyway. This necklace was from For Love 21 and it was $5.80!!! A necklace...5.80...seriously!! And these things weren't even on sale...that's the regular price! If I had this store in my city, Jonathan would be in trouble! :)

This shirt was from Charlotte Russe for $15.
This shirt was from Charlotte Russe for $15. I have really gotten into the blousy shirts with the band at the bottom. Can you tell?

This shirt was from Charlotte Russe for $10. Again the band...
This shirt was from Charlotte Russe for $20. I just love these blousy shirts...but if they don't have the band, it looks like a maternity shirt and we can't have that. Can we??
These next two shirts I got at The Limited. I have this blue shirt already and absolutely love it! It's one of my favorites! It looks soo pretty on, even though it kinda looks blah on the hanger. Since I work at a bank, my clothes often get ruined from snagging on drawers of money. And I snagged my shirt a couple weeks ago. I was so upset about it that I actually called Jonathan at work. The last time I was in Limited they had their clearance section an additional 40% off so of course I was searching through the racks! I found these shirts originally $39.50 marked down "Final Sale" to $6.99. When they rang up, they actually ran up as $4.00!!! So of course I had to get both colors!

So there you have it! My most recent deals and steals! I am a sucker for a good deal! :) Can you tell? Any my purse is full of store coupon cards again, so I might be heading out again to spend some birthday money:) Sale racks...here I come!!

My Dinner and Favorite Things

I went running this evening with Billie and her baby bump. I'm so proud of her for still running at six and a half months! She's so hardcore! It's been a while since we've had time to get together to run and it was great...ahem...other than the fact that it was so humid that we couldn't breathe. Earlier today one of my coworkers and one of my customers both gave me homegrown tomatoes. Yummm! So when we got done running I was thinking about those yummy tomatoes waiting for me at home. Billie and I always meet in the Kroger parking lot to run, so I went on inside (all nasty and sweaty) to buy some bacon...can you guess why?? BLTs!!!!! I haven't had one all summer! I got home and microwaved the bacon (way easier than frying it) and sliced the tomato (which was Amazing and so yummy and ripe). And my dinner was everything I hoped and wished it would be! I just thought you all would love to hear my play by play dinner!

Anyway, if you want to read a really cute post with adorable pictures you have GOT to go read my friend Lindsy's post about her daughter Kennedy's favorite things while living at our house! It is precious! Kennedy and Dakota have become good friends and I can only imagine how depressed Dakota will be when Kennedy moves into her new house!

My 28th

I am well aware that it has been a full week since I have posted! It just seems like I have less and less time in the evenings and on the weekends and somehow I feel the need for sleep instead of blogging. :) It has been 2 week since I have been running! Looking back, I'm not sure what I've done other than volleyball on Mondays and softball on Thursdays. But I was doing something... I was going to run yesterday but we had a seriously bad storm come by. It was as black as night at about 3:00 in the afternoon! We lost power at the house and thankfully Lindsy and Kennedy were at our house because Dakota was scared! We also lost power at work so I got to go home a bit early! So no running last night. I got my shoes on tonight and went about 3 miles and just about puked (sorry for the visual) :). It was hot and humid and I'm obviously out of shape!

Tim, Lindsy and Kennedy are our temporary housemates. They moved in last weekend after the sale of their house. They close on the house they are buying in two weeks so in the mean time they are staying at our house! It's so fun to have a little one running around the house. Dakota absolutely loves Kennedy! We're having a great time!

Last Sunday was my 28th birthday! I'm getting a little too close to the big 3-0! Saturday morning Jonathan surprised me with an appointment to my favorite nail place to get a manicure and pedicure! Boy did it feel good! Then he surprised me with dinner at The Melting Pot! I had never been there and wanted to go so bad! We decided to do the four course meal for two called the Fondue Feast. Of course I had to take pictures because the stuff looked soo yummy!

Here's a picture of our first course of Quattro Formaggio Cheese Fondue. It was served with bread, apples, and veggies. Yumm!
The second course was a Caprese Salad but I had already dug in before I thought to take a picture! Our main course was potatoes, veggies, and 6 different kinds of meat! Yum! (I didn't know they brought the meat to the table raw and that you actually cooked it in the fondue. I thought the meat would be cooked and that you just dip the cooked meat into the fondue for taste.) Ha!
The fourth course was my favorite as I'm sure you can imagine!!! I think I could have had this all 4 courses! We decided on a S'mores chocolate fondue. It was milk chocolate with marshmallows and crushed graham crackers in it! It was served with pound cake, brownies, rice krispies, marshmallows, bananas, strawberries, and cheese cake with a candle in it!

The best thing about The Melting Pot was the amazing atmosphere! We were so secluded that we couldn't even see any other people in the restaurant! How romantic!!
Sunday, Jonathan surprised me with lunch at the Olive Garden and our friends, Tim and Lindsy (and Kennedy too) and Billie and Derek met us at the restaurant for a birthday celebration! We had a great time! All in all I had a great birthday weekend!
I also have to say a BIG Happy Birthday to my dad! Today is his 65th Birthday! You would never guess it tho! (Check out his ride on Big Mable!) I love you dad! I hope you have a great day!
